Position: Intermediate School Educator at Holy Name of Mary School

The Intermediate School Educator at Holy Name of Mary School embodies and promotes Catholic principles while assisting students in their spiritual growth by serving as a role model of Catholic values both within and outside the educational environment.

As a key member of the educational team, you will guide the classroom by providing tailored instruction to address each student's unique requirements and fostering an optimal learning atmosphere. Working collaboratively with the lead teacher to monitor individual student progress and needs is essential for facilitating student development and achievement.

Educators are expected to reflect the school's mission and values, adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and comply with the policies outlined in the staff and parent handbooks of Holy Name of Mary, as well as follow directives from school leadership.

This role is crucial in nurturing a faith-centered environment and enhancing student learning under the guidance of the classroom teacher.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Encourage student growth, progress, and self-esteem.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction, executing tasks as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each assigned student.
  • Exhibit flexibility in the daily educational setting.
  • Comply with the Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Adhere to all workplace policies, including standards of conduct, anti-harassment guidelines, electronic communication protocols, and social media regulations.
  • Utilize technology assessment tools effectively.
  • Maintain an engaging classroom atmosphere that balances discipline with a passion for learning.
  • Collaborate efficiently with all school personnel.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher. Credential preferred.
  • Full-Time Position.
  • Experience: Prior instructional experience preferred.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Practicing Catholic with a thorough understanding of the Catholic Church preferred.
  • Familiarity with Holy Name of Mary School.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of educational operations.
  • Compliance with established protocols for bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and first aid training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant software applications.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively.
  • Build relationships, work independently, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is determined based on internal pay structures and budget considerations. Typically, new hires are compensated at the lower end of the wage range, taking into account factors such as skills, experience, training, and departmental needs.
