Senior Personnel Security Assistant

ASRC Federal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Personnel Security Assistant to support a critical contract with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Washington, DC.

This is a hybrid position with weekly in-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison between ATF and multiple federal and state agencies
  • Initiate, review, and audit electronic questionnaires for investigations processing (e-QIP) applications
  • Troubleshoot issues with the e-QIP system
  • Conduct open-source research and investigative checks
  • Review request packages, security packages, and waiver packages
  • Query the Personnel Investigations Processing System (PIPS) for previous investigations and requests files from other agencies
  • Complete initial risk assessments and prepare polygraph packages
  • Accommodate and take fingerprints for FBI fingerprint checks
  • Request other investigative service provider files and Internal Affairs checks
  • Provide administrative case support and answer phones
  • Prepare and review correspondence and send reminder emails
  • Conduct weekly and bi-weekly counts and prepare files for shipment to the Federal Records Center
  • Review Position Designation Tools and request FBI Name Checks
  • Process Detailee personnel security requests and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Serve as a case initiation subject matter expert and conduct on-the-job training
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer handling skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and database experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a general office setting
  • Experience working with e-QIP and JPAS preferred
