Job Title: Site Grading Supervisor

Department: Construction / Grading

Reports to: Project Superintendent

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the successful execution of assigned projects through effective management of time, workforce, and budget. Lead a team to conduct grading operations safely and proficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction activities in accordance with project specifications.
  • Delegate and oversee daily tasks of construction staff.
  • Organize and coordinate transportation of materials and equipment to the work site.
  • Ensure sufficient labor and resources are available for operations.
  • Supervise and mentor team members.
  • Compile and maintain necessary documentation and reports.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent with daily logs, incidents, and site conditions.
  • Plan, assign, and manage work; address issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance of machinery.
  • Conduct weekly safety briefings and enforce safety regulations.
  • Assess any damages and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Review and verify timecards for payroll submission.
  • Perform additional tasks as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED.
Experience and Skills:
  • Familiarity with materials, techniques, and tools used in road construction and asphalt paving.
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within construction.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Physical Requirements:
  • Job entails various physical activities including driving, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing/pulling.
  • Driving is a necessary component of the role.
