Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and proposals while engaging with clients;
  • Provide mentorship and training to early-career professionals and design teams;

  • Adapt to evolving project scopes and timelines;
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site evaluations, including permitting research;

  • Design erosion and sediment control measures;
  • Oversee site, grading, drainage, utility, transportation, and landscape design;
  • Interpret topographical surveys and manage contour grading;
  • Ensure compliance with permit requirements for various projects;
  • Prepare construction documentation, site plans, and bid documents;
  • Support construction activities, including review of submissions and as-built certifications;
  • Conduct site visits and attend local meetings related to project applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (required);
  • Advanced degree in civil engineering (preferred);
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration (preferred);

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering consulting or equivalent education and experience (required);
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Bentley Flowmaster (required);
  • Familiarity with Bentley Microstation, ESRITM ArcGIS, SWMM, HEC-RAS, and HY8 (preferred);
  • Demonstrated success in client management and technical leadership (preferred);
  • Experience with stormwater regulatory compliance and local ordinance adherence (preferred);
  • Ability to manage complex and time-sensitive projects (preferred);
  • Knowledge of Virginia and North Carolina stormwater regulations (preferred);
  • Strong writing and communication skills (required);
  • Willingness to travel for site visits (required);
  • Health & Safety training may be necessary;
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record (required).
