General Overview:
The Educational Support Specialist at Saginaw Area Consortium plays a crucial role in facilitating instructional services for students participating in the remedial programs. This position involves providing targeted instruction, managing student behavior, preparing educational materials, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate records.

- Experience working in a diverse, urban educational setting and building rapport with students, staff, and families
The role may require sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods and lifting items up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Responsibilities:
- Modify lessons to align with classroom objectives
- Administer assessments and assignments to support the instructional process
- Assist students in individual or small group settings to reinforce learning concepts and achieve academic goals
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to evaluate student progress and adjust learning objectives as needed
- Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision to enhance student success
- Maintain classroom resources and student records to ensure a positive learning environment
- Perform clerical duties to support teachers and maintain necessary documentation
- Address emergency situations and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Participate in meetings and professional development to enhance job performance
- Complete additional tasks as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is preferred
- Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field is required
- Prior experience in a classroom setting is preferred
- Knowledge in Math, Science, and Reading is beneficial
Candidates must successfully pass assessments in Math and Reading to effectively support students in grades K-8.
Working Conditions:
The position is situated in a school environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and dust.

Curricular Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers and staff in implementing curriculum and instructional strategies.
