Job Overview

As an Accounting Clerk with Crescent Hotels & Resorts, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate payment of invoices from vendors and associates. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining the General Cashier Summary and reconciling open account status items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Route invoices with purchase orders attached to department heads and Executive Committee members for approval.
  • Process approved invoices for payment, ensuring all necessary signatures and back-up documentation are attached.
  • Pay hotel invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of amount paid, account coding, and invoice extensions.
  • Handle vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.
  • Maintain open invoices, paid invoices, and voided check files in an organized and up-to-date manner.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Assist in reconciling open account status items and inputting the General Cashier Summary.
  • Process and follow up on all returned checks accepted as cash payments.
  • Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work, including reconciliation of banquet check extensions and coding of banquets at cost.
  • Record department administration phone calls and inform the Controller of any potential concerns.
  • Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation and inform the Director of Finance of any potential uncollectible accounts.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience with accounting principles, AR/AP invoicing, and office work preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and calculator, as well as possess telephone etiquette skills.
