Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Check patients in and out of appointments, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient information.
- Update patient identification and demographic/insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collect co-payments, past due balances, and point of service payments, processing payments and maintaining accurate records.
- Post payments, process billing information, and perform end-of-day cash drawer closing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
- Keep waiting areas clean and comfortable, maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for patients and families.
- Inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status, providing clear and concise communication.
- Schedule appointments as necessary, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years experience in a customer service position.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual.
