Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and addressing patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately register patients in our electronic medical record system, verifying demographic and billing information.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, including phone and in-person requests, and ensure seamless communication with our clinical staff.
  • Manage multiple phone lines, directing calls to the appropriate recipient and responding to patient inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Resolve patient concerns and issues, referring complex matters to our practice manager or clinical staff as needed.
  • Schedule future appointments, requisitions, and laboratory tests, and coordinate with our clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
  • Notify patient care areas when patients arrive and are ready to be seen, and ensure that waiting patients are seen in a timely manner or notified of any delays.
  • Verify patient insurance information, understand different types of payers, and ensure accurate billing and follow-up information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of related customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience handling difficult callers, customers, or patients an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
  • Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system an asset.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
