Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join our team at Alta Equipment Group. As a key member of our construction equipment group, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service and support to our customers in the Biddeford, ME area.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment
  • Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with equipment
  • Install and replace parts as needed
  • Implement optional accessories and upgrades
  • Perform basic diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Test and verify equipment functionality
  • Responsible for inventory management of onboard parts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Three years of previous heavy equipment repair experience preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of engine, power train, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Possess own tools
  • A positive attitude and high energy level
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Volvo VCADS
  • Language Skills: Intermediate
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic
  • Reasoning Ability: Intermediate
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Regularly will stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; Frequently will talk/hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; Occasionally will sit
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 25 pounds; Frequently will lift 26 to 50 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 51 to 100 plus pounds
  • Work Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts; Frequently will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; Occasionally will work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, vibration
