Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter II/Senior Underwriter to join our team at First Citizens Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for underwriting complex commercial credits, providing guidance on structuring and servicing, and identifying cross-sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite commercial credit actions according to applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Review financial statements, communicate with clients or prospects, and perform analysis to recommend borrower risk ratings and appropriate loan structuring.
  • Source, compile, and interpret financial data to support structuring and approval of loans.
  • Identify risks through reviews, analysis, and research of new and existing commercial credit requests and relationships.
  • Partner with associates and clients to determine needs and structuring of new requests, renewals, and modifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.
  • OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Commercial loan experience in C&I, Medical, Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, Strong understanding of financial statements and key risk factors, Self-starter with the ability to identify risks and initiate resolution of problems with limited supervision, Ability to interact and collaborate with both internal and external customers.
