Educational Support Specialist

Coordinated Youth and Human Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide academic and behavioral support to students with special needs. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Academic Instruction
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Utilize a variety of instructional materials and strategies to promote student engagement and understanding.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Reports and Forms
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit regular progress reports.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
- Administer and maintain student evaluation instruments, such as student assignments and teacher grade books.
- Behavioral Management
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Develop and implement behavioral management plans to support students with emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive team approach.
- LBS1 certification or equivalent required.
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
