Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Full Time Senior Accountant for its Finance Department.

**Job Summary:**

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the overall financial activities and functions of a major not-for-profit social service organization. This includes analytical review of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in accordance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional accounting, business management, and/or auditing setting that demonstrates an understanding of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles.
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and use the Agency's data financial system to ensure timely and accurate closings of the Agency's financial system.
