Job Description

**Job Summary:**

Addison Group is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll related communications, including audit requests, and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Timekeeping Management: Manage timekeeping policies and protocols, including electronic / manual timesheet calculation and review with approval.
  • Payroll Error Resolution: Resolve payroll errors, Support PTO and benefits tracking.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain all payroll-related records and documents.
  • Numerical Aptitude: Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Semi-Monthly Payrolls: Semi-monthly payrolls, including entering payroll changes and verifying the accuracy of all data prior to submission for all company entities, including garnishments and levies.
  • Payroll Controls: Develop strong controls and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payroll for all pay companies, including receipt of all data required to process payroll.
  • Payroll Service Provider Management: Manage relationship with Payroll Service Provider to ensure successful implementation of requested changes and enhancements.
  • Year-End Payroll Closing: Support year-end payroll closing procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of federal, state and local government regulations and reporting requirements that affect payroll processing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.

Requirements:

  • Payroll Experience: 2+ years' of payroll experience required.
  • Payroll Processing: Processing multiple companies simultaneously with an understanding of Payroll best practices.
  • Payroll Software Experience: Experience with UKG, UltiPro or Kronos preferred, with strong reporting skills.
  • Excel Skills: Excel skills including VLookUp and Pivot Tables.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
