Payroll Specialist responsibilities is to manage & process US and Canada Payroll for weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay groups. Containing varying complexity across most US states including a Union payroll, manufacturing sites, corporate payroll, and weekly Puerto Rico entity.

Partner with all key stakeholders to ensure the responsibilities and objectives of the payroll function are successfully met including:

Finance, HR Field, External payroll service provider and banking partners.

Ensure the accurate, complete, and timely execution of payroll processing including coordinating and securing payroll data inputs, validating all related data, and ensuring timely payment/credit to the bank accounts of employees

  • Manage the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada payroll processing
  • Serve as a team member to process all payrolls accurately and timely for approximately 1,800 US employees and 75 semi-monthly Canadian employees.
  • Process payroll on SAP platform in addition to the subsequent steps to create and upload files to Dayforce for printing of checks, depositing of funds, check distribution and tax filing.
  • Maintenance of the employee system records for garnishments, deductions, and special payments.
  • Creating, tracking, resolving payroll related incidents in FMC's case management system
  • Execute report requests, reconcile payroll reports, and respond to all audit requests.
  • Review and submit timesheets for select group of employees.
  • Extracting payroll files from UKG for all US and Puerto Rico locations
  • Manage Vacation Payouts and special payment requests
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll processing including responding to inquiries on W-2s
  • Handle communication with employees/managers, Site HR, Benefits, and Time Administrators.

Qualification/ competences

Education

  • BA / BS in Finance / Accounting / HR / Business or equivalent work experience

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience processing in-house payroll for a medium to large size company
  • Attention to detail and self-motivated work ethic
  • Works well with others on a team
  • Strong communication and PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Experience in Human Resources and/or Customer Service
  • Confidentiality and tact in dealing with sensitive data
  • FPC or CPP certification from Payroll Org or comparable certification/experience
  • Spanish a plus
  • SAP and/or Workday Payroll experience
  • UKG Time and Attendance experience
