  • Produce detailed drawings adhering to opto-mechanical GD&T standards.
  • Establish and oversee precision alignment processes, including methodologies and software.
  • Conduct testing and characterization of optical performance, including equipment selection and criteria for success.
  • Collaborate closely with the process engineering team to address physics-based interdependencies.
  • Work in tandem with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to develop a robust and scalable system architecture.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in optics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and development of opto-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD, including GD&T and detailed drawing documentation relevant to opto-mechanics (ISO 10110).
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and physics.
  • A systems-level thinker capable of detailed execution; proven track record in delivering complex opto-mechanical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in opto-mechanical design.
  • Experience with high-power lasers ranging from tens to hundreds of watts.
  • Background in designing optics for industrial applications such as semiconductor processes, laser cutting, and long-distance laser communication.
  • Ability to perform system-level and component-level opto-mechanical tolerancing.
  • Experience in athermalization design, particularly with high-power lasers.
  • Familiarity with STOP analysis.
  • Experience with optical simulation software (e.g., Zemax or Code V).
  • Hands-on experience in aligning and assembling complex optical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of image and signal processing.
  • Understanding of motion control and kinematics.
  • Experience in designing fluid or thermal systems.

What We Offer:

  • An inclusive and diverse workplace culture that emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • A unique opportunity to play a key role in a rapidly growing company that is scaling a transformative technology.
  • Benefits:
    • Generous stock option packages.
    • Comprehensive employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (premium PPO and HMO options).
    • Life insurance coverage.
    • Traditional and Roth 401(k) plans.
    • Relocation assistance available.
    • Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays.
    • Generous Paid Parental Leave with a smooth transition back to work for the birthing parent.
    • Complimentary daily catered meals and a fully stocked kitchenette.
    • Casual dress code, flexible working hours, and regular team-building events.
  • Compensation:
