As a Mechanical Systems Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of our flagship droplet-based microscale radiochemistry production and discovery systems.
Key Responsibilities- System Design and Development: Spearhead the design and development of our flagship systems, including mechanical, fluidic, thermal, and motion subsystems, and interfaces among them.
- Design and Prototyping: Design mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD tools, and implement, test, and characterize prototypes.
- Fluidics and Pneumatics: Design fluidic and pneumatic circuits using manifolds and microfluidics, emphasizing compactness and low weight, low cost, reliability, and robustness.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers in the design and development of our systems, and interface with vendors and external parties as needed.
- Documentation and SOPs: Create and maintain design documentation, and develop SOPs and operating guides for the prototype systems.
- Education: M.S. or higher in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience leading teams for mechanical design projects, and 5+ years of experience in systems integration and automation.
- Skills: Hands-on experience with fluidic, pneumatic, thermal, and motion actuation systems, and knowledge of material properties, including mechanical and thermal properties, chemical compatibility, etc.
- Leadership: Experience in managing technology development projects from proof-of-concept to prototype through to productization and manufacturing, and ability to lead teams in a dynamic environment.
- Machining Experience: Experience with machining, including CNC milling.
- Chemical Engineering Knowledge: Knowledge of chemical engineering and chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping: Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
- Microfluidics: Experience with microfluidics.
