Amazon Energy Strategy Director

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced leader to own the long-term strategy for our energy team, ensuring that AWS can scale sustainably. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the energy and sustainability space and will be responsible for developing Amazon's path to 100% carbon-free energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute large-scale global energy strategies
- Manage energy projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met, delivering against cost savings and sustainability goals
- Work collaboratively with infrastructure regional teams, finance, public policy, and legal teams to advocate and execute programs that drive innovation in the energy space
- Represent AWS Infrastructure internally and externally, including energy business partners and policy makers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, or other related degree
- 10+ years of professional experience in energy, sustainability, or comparable fields
- Strong organizational building, team and people management experience
- Experience working with stakeholders across both technical and business functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with power trading, utility systems, carbon management, or sustainability science
- Track record of identifying and executing on innovative renewable generation projects
- Experience working with utility regulators and governments to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader companywide strategies and objectives
