About the Role

As the Principal Marketing Manager, Goodreads, you will be responsible for driving engagement and revenue through content/product marketing. You will define the strategic direction and priorities for Marketing and set goals that contribute to the overall growth of Goodreads and Amazon Books.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Define the goals, strategy, and measurement for marketing initiatives to drive Goodreads business goals as well as identify opportunities that support the overall goals for Books.
  2. Deliver written narratives that clearly communicate marketing strategy, business results, and future opportunities.
  3. Embrace a data-driven test-and-learn approach to refine new marketing approaches and channels to reach and engage key audiences.
  4. Develop detailed campaign project plans, creative briefs, and digital strategies, including campaign goals, messaging, calls to action, segmentation strategy, adoption campaigns, marketing distribution channels, and campaign schedule.
  5. Drive improvements to processes, reporting, and analytics with an eye towards automation.
  6. Drive insights and learnings cross-functionally on campaign performance, including best practices and recommendations for both copy and creative.
  7. Set strategy for email program as well as project manage email campaigns, implementing the appropriate feedback and approval process, ensuring accuracy of copy, segmentation, etc., and timely deployment.
  8. Advocate for tech initiatives to optimize growth and performance, partnering with Product Management and Tech teams to analyze opportunity size and get buy-in for ideas.
  9. Stay abreast of industry trends in email/push marketing, CRM, and marketing automation, including new opportunities within Amazon Owned & Operated channels.
Requirements
  • 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables)
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
