Senior Risk Management Specialist

Job Overview: The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team at Amazon is responsible for protecting customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. As a RISC Risk Manager, you will be part of the Business and Legal Support (BLS) team, providing strategic support to high-priority requests from legal partners, regulators, law enforcement, and business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate cross-functional responses to inquiries from regulators, law enforcement, and internal teams regarding restricted products.
- Develop and manage mechanisms to facilitate rapid response to inquiries and escalations.
- Assess and lead strategic remediations related to deficiencies identified in inquiries.
- Analyze data from various sources to identify possible risk indicators.
- Perform incident triage, determining scope, urgency, and potential impact, identifying specific vulnerabilities, and recommending expedited remediation.
- Perform escalation trend analysis and reporting.
- Work with Legal teams to support proactive stakeholder engagement with timely data and analysis.
- Analyze escalations from various sources within Amazon to determine possible root causes and identify preventative actions.
- Communicate Amazon's compliance strategies to regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent reporting against regulatory and business commitments.
- Develop and present in-depth documents and reports on policy and process gaps to senior executives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of program or project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Previous experience leading compliance programs and/or time-sensitive regulatory engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to source and analyze data to drive business reporting.
- Experience delivering initiatives from conception through completion.
- Experience leading process management and process improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to define strategies to solve ambiguous problems.
- Experience preparing reports identifying findings and providing recommended remediation strategies and solutions.
Compensation: Estimated salary range is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
