Job Title: Design Release Engineer

Job Summary:

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Design and Release Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automotive client's team in Dearborn, MI, you will be responsible for designing and developing exhaust aftertreatment solutions that meet worldwide tailpipe emissions regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Technical Specialists: Work closely with technical experts to define best-in-class aftertreatment systems for gas and hybrid vehicles, ensuring compliance with worldwide emissions standards.
  • Design Aftertreatment Systems: Develop and implement aftertreatment systems that align with program performance objectives and durability requirements.
  • Establish Engineering Specifications: Create and maintain engineering specifications, component FMEA & DVP, and identify system trade-offs to meet system boundary conditions.
  • Lead Supplier Meetings: Facilitate supplier meetings to improve manufacturing processes for function, cost, weight, and quality.
  • Develop and Track Hardware and Calibration Solutions: Design and implement hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional and cost objectives.
  • Evaluate Emerging Technologies: Assess emerging aftertreatment technologies necessary to meet government emissions regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: A degree in engineering is required.
  • Automotive Industry Experience: Relevant work experience in the automotive industry is essential.
  • 2+ Years of Relevant Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Strong Understanding of Combustion Engine Process: A solid understanding of combustion engine processes is necessary.
  • Strong Calibration, Controls, or Exhaust Systems Knowledge: Experience in calibration, controls, or exhaust systems is required.
  • Project Management Experience: Proven project management skills are essential.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive hourly rate of $41-$50 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
