Position Summary

The Junior Mechanical Engineer will engage in a variety of foundational engineering tasks across multiple projects. This entry-level position will involve working on assignments for both large and small clients with demanding timelines. The role will also require an understanding of the unique design, validation, and release requirements of each customer. The Junior Mechanical Engineer will receive guidance and support from experienced team members throughout project work and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design teams to create precise 3D models for mechanical systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Contribute to engineering calculations and analyses for design initiatives and projects.
  • Interpret, analyze, and generate technical documents, engineering drawings, and related documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring the quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of designs.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and next steps to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Engage with internal and external clients and suppliers to meet technical specifications and timelines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to meet evolving customer demands and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with complex mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical motors.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Hands-on problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering effective solutions to intricate issues promptly and economically.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Up to one year of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Participation in industry internships or competitions such as Formula SAE or Baja SAE.
  • Knowledge of DFMEAs, DVPs, DFM, FEA, and OEM release processes.
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics assessments.
  • Familiarity with 2D drawing development and GD&T applications.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as CATIA, PROe, or MATLAB.
