The Opportunity

In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we are pushing the boundaries of heart disease treatment through groundbreaking medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to regain their health and move forward with their lives.

Job Responsibilities

As a Medical Device Specialist, you will provide engineering, sales, educational, and technical support in response to field inquiries from physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and field sales staff, focusing on EP products. You will perform work that involves a high degree of independence, identifying and utilizing the most effective, cost-efficient, and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluating their effectiveness and appropriateness. You will exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work; monitor performance and report status to your manager.

  • You will act as a clinical interface between the medical community and the business.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to build and sustain credible business relationships with customers and share product expertise accordingly.
  • You will provide engineering, sales, education, and clinical support in response to field inquiries on an as-needed basis. You will demonstrate a thorough command of all EP products, related product and technical knowledge, trends, and players.
  • You will develop, lead, and/or facilitate trainings and other programs on EP products to healthcare professionals.
  • You will provide insight, guidance, and feedback to management on market feedback and components of next-generation products.
  • You will provide regional EP procedural case coverage.
  • You will provide additional backup support to EP Sales Representatives in the following areas:
    • Sales support;
    • Regional training seminars;
    • Clinical studies/data collection;
    • Troubleshooting;
    • New product in-service training to physicians, nurses, and sales representatives.
  • You will continuously develop engineering, sales, and technical skills relative to the overall Arrhythmia Management strategy, including learning opportunities via Senior Sales personnel and management.
  • You will assist Training and Education departments with advanced educational seminars and the preparation of educational materials.
  • You will assist Sales with advanced product demonstrations to visiting physicians and sales personnel.
  • You will remain current on developments in your field of expertise, regulatory requirements, and a good working knowledge of company and competitor products, markets, and objectives, as well as industry trends.
  • You will resolve or facilitate the resolution of problems, including identifying causes to prevent reoccurrence.
  • You will perform related functions and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
