Medical Assistant Transplant Coordinator

As a Medical Assistant in the Transplant department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transplant services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and sterilizing designated equipment after use
  • Assisting physicians with procedures, such as GI procedures and medical exams
  • Assisting patients with obtaining food, toileting, ambulating, and maintaining comfort
  • Ensuring completion of patient charges as per policy
  • Cleaning exam rooms and treatment areas after each patient and preparing them for the next patient
  • Stocking exam rooms and treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms
  • Notifying the Office Manager when supplies are low
  • Assisting with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility
  • Obtaining vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice

To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent and completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or hold a current medical assistant certification from a nationally recognized accredited institution.

MA experience and EKG and/or Spirometry experience are preferred. Second language mastery is also a plus.
