About the Role

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team of experienced engineers and designers. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering complex projects to our power generation clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop detailed mechanical systems, including piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, and pipe support details.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and other design team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and present design models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, Solidworks, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Prepare detailed drawing packages, including AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and MicroStation.
  • Perform peer checking and review of design packages developed by other team members.
  • Provide direction and mentoring to junior design members and drafters.
Requirements
  • Engineering Technology Degree or Certification in drafting and/or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in piping and plant design.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, NFPA, ANSI, and API.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
  • Experience with laser scanning technology, including Plant 3D, Navisworks, and Recap.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide direction to junior team members.
