POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in the management and distribution of aircraft and non-aircraft components, tools, and supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the inventory of Part-121 aircraft; assist in conducting monthly and annual stock counts; perform and document necessary shelf-life evaluations; ensure the effective rotation of spare parts using a "first-in/first-out" approach; communicate inventory findings and adjustments to relevant personnel; coordinate the shipment of components to various locations and suppliers.
  • Ensure all parts and materials are appropriately labeled; distribute parts and tools to maintenance staff; maintain digital records for all parts, supplies, and materials issued; manage the return of unused items to inventory; monitor standard usage of parts and materials and provide recommendations for inventory-level adjustments; advise management on strategies to control inventory expenses and enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Receive incoming components, tools, and supplies; conduct inspections on all received items to verify compliance with part numbers, purchase orders, quality standards, and vendor documentation; perform physical checks of incoming and outgoing items to ensure they are in good condition and free from visible defects.
  • Package and dispatch outgoing components, tools, and supplies; prepare necessary hazardous materials documentation; ensure proper storage, packaging, and identification of parts and tools; monitor and replenish stock levels; keep track of the shelf-life of items; maintain a tidy and organized storage environment.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing department to ensure efficient handling of repair orders, proper return of exchange cores, loaner parts, and other borrowed items, as well as the procurement of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Exemplify ethical conduct, maintain a professional and respectful workplace, and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent with experience in aviation parts and inventory management preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in computer use and detail-oriented.
  • Must obtain receiving inspection authority within six months of employment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Compliance with the company's FAA/DOT mandated Drug and Alcohol Program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, with potential travel required.
  • This role may involve exposure to noise and hazards typical of an aircraft hangar.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of items weighing up to 80 pounds or more.
  • Occasional work on ladders or scaffolds, requiring overhead or awkward positioning.
  • Manual dexterity, as well as the ability to speak, see, and hear, is necessary for effective job performance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Starting salary for this position ranges from $17.00 to $19.00, based on experience.
