Position Overview

Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and experienced Financial Management Coach to provide expert guidance and support to child care providers in Northeast Iowa. This role is essential in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of both center-based and home-based child care services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, program administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience, including:
    • Experience in early childhood education settings with a focus on administration and financial oversight.
    • Proficiency in child care management systems and business automation tools.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, preferably in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored technical assistance to program leaders to enhance the long-term financial viability of their operations.
  • Gather and analyze baseline data regarding business systems and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate onboarding for providers utilizing selected child care management software.
  • Monitor provider data to ensure effective use of systems, analyze financial metrics, and offer coaching for improvement.
  • Ensure providers effectively utilize management systems for invoicing and tuition collection.
  • Review compliance with recordkeeping standards for children, families, and staff.
  • Evaluate HR policies and recommend strategies to improve staff retention and compensation.
  • Assist providers in creating and executing marketing strategies to boost enrollment.
  • Review program documentation to ensure clarity in fee collection policies.
  • Collect ongoing data to assess the impact of management system usage and financial health.
  • Support providers in establishing robust financial systems for budgeting and reporting.
  • Deliver services in alignment with best practices in adult learning methodologies.
  • Foster strong relationships with participants while focusing on program objectives.
  • Customize consulting approaches to align with the unique learning styles and needs of program leaders.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions.
  • Assist in setting and implementing improvement goals for program leaders.
  • Utilize interactive training techniques to encourage participant reflection.
  • Collaborate with other service providers to enhance training and service delivery.
  • Encourage professional development among child care program directors through constructive feedback and discussions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all consulting activities.
  • Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing tasks to meet expectations.
  • Share relevant resources and information with colleagues and program participants.
  • Communicate respectfully and positively in all interactions.
  • Build collaborative relationships within the community to support service goals.
  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of work.
  • Participate in required meetings and professional development opportunities.
