Position Summary

AECOM is looking for a Junior Civil Engineering Associate to assist with transportation initiatives from our Waterloo, IA office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop analytical and design capabilities.
  • Engage in engineering design under the guidance of a seasoned engineer.
  • Produce designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
  • Gather and evaluate data with oversight from an experienced engineer.
  • Utilize software tools to address fundamental engineering challenges.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with agreed budgets and timelines under supervision.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Prior coursework or experience with Iowa DOT.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
