Schedule and Position Summary

Provides administrative and technical support to an ophthalmologist in a clinical setting, ensuring efficient patient care and office operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains accurate patient records and schedules appointments in IDX, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Responds to phone calls, greets patients, verifies billing information, and prepares charts for office visits, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assists with clinical workups, including visual acuity, applanation pressures, history, keratometry, autorefraction, color vision, stereopsis, and EYESYS, ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Instructs patients on proper contact lens care and insertion/removal, modifies and polishes contacts as needed, and maintains inventory of materials and cleans instruments.
  • Maintains examination rooms and supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment for patients and staff.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment with occasional exposure to medical equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or CPR St. Louis.

  • Communication, computer literacy, medical terminology, organizational savvy, and patient care skills.
