POSITION OVERVIEW:


As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating lathe, mill, and saw machinery to produce metal components in line with company protocols and the APSCO Quality Manual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate a variety of machines (saw, lathe, or mill) with minimal supervision.

Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ascertain specifications, methods, and sequences for the fabrication of required components.

Manufacture parts according to customer specifications and inventory requirements, or as directed by the Supervisor.
Ensure that finished products meet specifications using precision measuring tools.
Complete the necessary Shop Traveler documentation for each batch of components and submit to the Quality Inspector.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Perform additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
Completion of Technical School

EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years of experience operating mills and/or lathes

Required Skills:
Proficient operation of various mills, lathes, and saws
Ability to read blueprints, calipers, and micrometers
Capable of deburring own parts
Competence in solving complex mathematical problems related to machining
Programming skills are advantageous but not mandatory
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required for an employee to successfully execute the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to communicate effectively. This position is physically demanding and involves bending, stooping, and navigating around obstacles. The employee must regularly lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to endure exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature variations, and other elements typical in a manufacturing environment.
