Job Summary

Quality Machine & Fab is seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Programming and Operation: Utilize Fusion 360 software to create and optimize CNC programs for machining operations, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
  2. Process Development: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to develop machining processes and tool paths that meet quality and production requirements.
  3. Collaboration and Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
  4. Machining Setup and Execution: Set up CNC machines and tooling according to program specifications, including selection of cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
  5. Quality Control and Troubleshooting: Conduct tooling and material evaluations to optimize machining processes and achieve desired outcomes. Perform test runs and troubleshoot programming and machining issues to ensure the quality and accuracy of finished components.
  6. Machine Performance and Maintenance: Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  7. Documentation and Training: Document and maintain CNC programs, tooling configurations, and machining parameters for future reference. Provide training and support to machine operators and other personnel as needed to facilitate effective CNC machining operations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC programmer, with proficiency in Fusion 360 software required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machining principles, including cutting tool selection, speeds and feeds, and machining strategies. Experience with a variety of CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in all aspects of work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
