Overview:
Responsible for orchestrating, supervising, and overseeing both preventive and corrective maintenance
and repair operations to ensure that the organization's facilities, infrastructure,
machinery, and equipment function efficiently. This role involves planning, prioritizing,
scheduling, and managing maintenance tasks to address breakdowns and
malfunctions while minimizing disruptions to business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead investigations into equipment incidents and breakdowns using remote monitoring tools and/or engaging with equipment users/operators to pinpoint the exact area of failure.
  • Utilize remote monitoring for Container Handling Equipment (CHE) and related assets, collaborating with the Maintenance Coordinator to address, resolve, and follow up on breakdown notifications.
  • Oversee breakdown response teams by assessing operational impact and ensuring swift restoration of equipment functionality.
  • Implement appropriate procedures for unplanned maintenance, suggesting improvements where necessary, to minimize repair time and restore equipment to a safe and operational state.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all equipment breakdown occurrences in the Work Order system.
  • Manage the documentation of specialized insights into equipment failure patterns and repair methodologies.
  • Leverage data such as equipment costs, response speed, and effectiveness in developing departmental strategies.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to breakdowns and exception reports, taking prompt action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other managers, supervisors, and technical personnel to reduce maintenance costs and enhance breakdown maintenance processes.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and a relentless pursuit of incident-free operations by minimizing unplanned equipment outages.
  • Enhance and advocate for best practices in strategy and routine scheduling of maintenance activities by sharing insights and reporting discrepancies in maintenance protocols.
  • Support an ongoing review of standard operating procedures and guidelines for equipment reliability and breakdown management, contributing to the safe operation of all terminal equipment.
  • Exercise management authority to foster total-terminal success in alignment with leadership's strategic vision, optimizing work processes and efficient use of manpower.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers, vendors, terminal management, and the unionized workforce.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with other Transportation and Logistics business units to support overarching group strategies and vision.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Required for the role:
  • Education - A minimum of a four (4) year degree from an accredited institution in electrical, mechanical, or a related field, or equivalent work experience of five (5) years in terminal operations or facility management.
  • Experience - A minimum of five (5) years of multi-discipline maintenance and repair experience with various port terminal or heavy industrial equipment is highly preferred. Additionally, two (2) years of experience in emergency response, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs of similar equipment is preferred.
  • Accountability - Ability to establish operational plans with immediate impact by upholding standards that drive high performance and execution.
  • Agility - Capacity to swiftly adapt to significant changes, manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and communicate effectively in high-pressure situations; continuously seek to standardize processes and procedures to enhance team development and share best practices globally.
  • Collaboration - Ability to share and adapt skills while working across internal and external boundaries; understand customer processes that influence terminal operations and drive improvements to better support terminal needs; proactively seek opportunities to assist operations departments in focusing on daily operations.
  • Functional Excellence - Comprehensive knowledge in the job area/discipline or expertise in a specific field; lead, inspire, innovate, and motivate a team towards consistent performance improvement; translate raw data into actionable strategies and initiatives, conducting analyses such as performance, competitive, and market evaluations.
  • Passionate - A commitment to continuously understand and innovate various aspects of the industry as they relate to business needs; ability to motivate and develop a diverse team across all terminal operations departments.
Job Type: Full Time

Salary: USD 100,000 - USD 140,000.00
