Must possess the capability to travel to our office as necessary. Our Flexible Work Model allows for the majority of tasks to be performed from your home office.

However, this is not a fully remote position and will necessitate in-office presence occasionally, based on business requirements.

Standard working hours are Monday – Friday, aligning with General Office Hours (Eastern Time Zone). This team provides support to various locations.

During the Month-End closing period (the initial days of each month), this team adjusts working hours to align with specific time zones.

Position Overview

As a key member of the Accounting Services division, the Senior Staff Accountant is accountable for delivering precise accounting related to accounts payable and fostering business partnerships.

The Senior Staff Accountant aids in the period closing process and prepares as well as interprets results for business operations throughout the period, quarter, and year-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities
Engages in the following fundamental tasks: Journal Entries, analysis, auditing, and report generation.
Responds to, resolves, and makes decisions on standard/routine business inquiries with minimal risk.
Takes responsibility for personal work and contributes to team, department, and/or business outcomes. May oversee the work of non-management personnel.
Assists senior associates in achieving business objectives by: utilizing technical expertise to enhance business processes.
establishing priorities for self and, when appropriate, others.
effectively managing time to meet goals without disadvantaging other associates or teams.
contributing to departmental/unit budget as necessary (i.e., input, adhering to guidelines, etc.).


Exhibits an understanding of personal strengths and areas for development and takes initiative to enhance skills and knowledge.

Performs additional duties as required.
Specific Responsibilities
Completes the period-end closing process, including journal entries, financial statement activities, and reporting for all relevant departments.
Handles journal entries and associated research.
Ensures that necessary adjusting journal entries are executed promptly.
Conducts periodic review meetings with department managers to identify and resolve outstanding issues.
Prepares period-end operating statements and balance sheet management reports.
Responsibilities also encompass providing ad hoc reports for management.
Assists in the preparation of audit documentation.
Engages in special projects as needed.
Reviews existing processes and suggests process improvement initiatives to management.
Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience, showcasing strong leadership and relationship-building skills as follows: Typically a professional role with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting).

A college degree and/or relevant experience is generally required.
Specific Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Travel & Expense preferred.
Proficiency in PC-based applications, including Excel, MS Access, and Word.
Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.
Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile accounts and clarify variances.
Proven ability to work independently.
Detail-oriented with highly developed organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
