Job Title: Environmental, Health

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations. The successful candidate will lead company EHS initiatives and improvement efforts at all Central Steel and Wire locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in implementing and managing EHS policies, programs, and practices
  • Lead incident investigations, evaluate trend analysis, and handle workers' compensation
  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees and managers
  • Implement and coordinate safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
  • Advise leadership on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
  • Perform safety audits and inspections to identify potential safety hazards
  • Work with managers and staff to determine and implement corrective action
  • Identify SMART Goals/EHS goals for site leadership team members
  • Coach, train, influence, and mentor employees
  • Analyze complex situations and make timely decisions
  • Collect and analyze data to determine root cause of problem
  • Multi-task when all projects are high priority
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or employees
  • Obtain continuous education related to EHS and become certified as an OSHA Certified Trainer
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or related technical degree required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related environment
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Data Analysis skills required (Capability, KPIs)
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal and state regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
  • Track record of self-motivated, results-oriented team player
  • Travel required (approximately 10%)
