Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager, Accounts Payable to join our team at Brightspeed. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader to oversee the Accounts Payable department, related systems, and general ledger integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide hands-on, effective leadership and supervision of a team of at least 5 employees, including training, motivating, and evaluating team members.
  • Accounts Payable Operations: Manage the Accounts Payable subledger in SAP system and multiple other Accounts Payable feeder systems, including invoice, payment processing, vendor master, and others.
  • Process Improvement: Further enhance, develop, implement, improve, and enforce new and existing operating documentation, policies, procedures, and controls to increase payment and payable accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain vendor relationships, review expenses, and oversee annual 1099 reporting and escheat reporting.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide timely and accurate reporting on Accounts Payable operating metrics and measure performance against department goals and internal customer requirements.
  • Technology Support: Provide testing support as needed on Accounts Payable systems (SAP, Ariba, Kofax/ITC).
  • Procurement Partnership: Partner with the Procurement function on end-to-end procure to pay (P2P) design, implementation, and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Experience: 15+ years of Accounts Payable experience, with 5+ years of management experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, joining data sets, ability to create comprehensive reports; experience with prioritizing and problem-solving; strong written and oral communication skills; strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills; relationship-building skills and strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP Experience: Experience with SAP systems and processes.
  • Early Development or Rapidly Growing Organization: Experience in early development or rapidly growing organizations.
