Position Overview

As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Equitable Advisors LLC, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will contribute to the integrity of our financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies at the policy level and ensuring timely resolution.
2. Collaborate with various business units to troubleshoot and resolve accounting and reconciliation challenges.
3. Prepare monthly reconciliations for policy suspense accounts.
4. Assist management in fulfilling audit requests and ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.
5. Validate the accuracy and timeliness of recorded transactions in the general ledger.
6. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and cash transactions.
7. Ensure all deliverables are met with precision and within established timelines.
8. Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. In addition to base compensation, we offer performance-based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
1. At least 1 year of experience in general ledger accounting or bookkeeping.
2. Strong understanding of journal entry processes and financial statements.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Experience in the insurance sector is advantageous.
