Job Summary

The College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Administrator to oversee the organization's contracts and grants operations. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of university policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of contracts and grants specialists to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the contracts and grants function, including pre- and post-award processes.
  • Develop and implement sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable grants process improvements.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with higher-level leaders to advise on the effective use of resources and methods to maximize earnings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, economics, business, or public affairs.
  • At least 2 years of related functional experience, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Master's degree or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions, preferably in an academic setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Research Administrator by The Research Administrators Certification Council.
  • Knowledge of uniform guidance as it relates to external grants.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Collaborative yet flexible work ethic.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
