Position Summary

We are in search of experienced Mechanical Engineers with a background in Frame 5 gas turbines to join our regional response team. This team will operate at various customer locations during peak operational periods. The role requires collaboration with a diverse group to ensure the efficient functioning and upkeep of Frame 5 Peaker units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site installation of systems and equipment, along with ongoing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations post-installation.
  • Perform maintenance tasks for Frame 5 units, including thorough inspections and necessary repairs.
  • Oversee maintenance of Boiler Feed Pumps (BFP), vertical pumps, boilers, steam turbines, gas turbines, and generators.
  • Provide technical assistance and direction to both local and remote team members.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Document and report all maintenance activities and equipment conditions.
  • Be prepared to work in rotating shifts, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as dictated by field assignments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to various project sites and field assignments.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities to proactively advance our Company's vision and align with our core values.
Required Skills

Field Service Engineers should possess knowledge in:

  • Gas Turbines
  • Generators
  • Electric Motors & Pumps
  • Instrumentation
  • Servomechanisms
  • Actuators
  • Fire-Fighting Systems
  • General Machinery Knowledge
  • Experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.
  • Pipe fitting and tubing skills.
Qualifications
  • Technical/University degree or equivalent experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years in a Field Services role.
  • 5+ years of experience in field services or maintenance of power generation equipment, specifically with Frame 5 units.
  • Proficiency in English, Spanish, or French (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Successful completion of required TFA II training programs is essential.
  • Qualified level with the ability to actively support field service activities and know where to find answers to emerging questions.
  • Solid understanding of Gas Turbine Operations and Control Parameters.
  • Strong technical skills in interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, as well as proficiency in alignment and thermal growth equipment.
  • Competence in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive travel to various projects and field assignments is necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong leadership abilities.
  • Significant experience in Field Engineering Services.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of HSE, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001.
