Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the values and mission of Essen Bakery with integrity and professionalism, maintaining composure during busy periods to set a positive example for the team.
- Proactively assess customer and store needs, communicating essential information to staff to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage staff scheduling based on anticipated business demands, ensuring all roles are filled as required.
- Support the hiring and training of new team members, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance performance.
- Monitor staff morale and performance, addressing any concerns with the assistant manager or ownership.
- Facilitate a positive learning environment through clear and respectful coaching, aimed at achieving operational excellence.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining a friendly demeanor and effectively addressing customer inquiries and needs.
- Build strong relationships with team members by understanding their motivations and addressing their concerns.
- Direct staff to various workstations during shifts to optimize service speed and efficiency.
- Ensure that cleanliness and service standards are consistently met by all team members.
- Oversee store operations during shifts, organizing and monitoring opening and closing tasks.
- Adhere to operational policies regarding cash handling, safety, and security to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct bank runs as necessary to maintain appropriate cash levels.
- Open and close the café as required.
- Enforce policies related to waste management and employee purchases, ensuring compliance among staff.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Consistently prepare high-quality beverages in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards, following health and safety guidelines.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using available organizational tools.
- Utilize operational resources effectively to achieve excellence during shifts.
- Participate in scheduled team and management meetings, contributing suggestions for improvement.
- Assist colleagues as needed to ensure a positive customer experience and efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in customer service with a positive attitude.
- A minimum of three years in a customer service role within a fast-paced food service environment.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Word, Excel, and Canva; experience in document creation and marketing materials is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate a team.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage of $18-$20 plus tips.
- Complimentary primary healthcare benefits.
- Paid Time Off accrued at a rate of three hours per payroll, redeemable after 28 weeks.
