Position Title: RN - Cancer Research Infusion

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather relevant assessment data, including current condition, medical history, and psychosocial information, through collaboration with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
  • Create, assess, and modify personalized care plans within established documentation standards, ensuring measurable and achievable outcomes.
  • Monitor patient responses to care, initiating necessary adjustments independently or collaboratively, and documenting changes in condition and responses to interventions.
  • Incorporate patient education into care delivery, documenting teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain annual clinical and institutional competencies.
  • Deliver care based on nursing principles and pathophysiology, executing technical skills with precision and adapting priorities based on patient needs.
  • Consider the patient's age in all decision-making processes related to assessment, treatment, and care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, acting as a patient advocate and utilizing resources efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all relevant information in chart forms and electronic applications, facilitating appropriate billing.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, respecting the skill levels of team members and valuing their contributions.
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing assessment, treatment, and supportive care for cancer, employing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Administer hydration, infusions, and supportive therapies, following the nursing process for care delivery.
  • Educate patients and families, considering their developmental stages, and participate in the training of fellow professionals.
  • Engage in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the Swedish Cancer Institute.
  • Participate in ongoing education for self and colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Infusion Oncology Nursing.
