As a caregiver at Swedish Health Services, you will utilize your specialized skills to provide exceptional healthcare with a personal touch, making a significant impact through your compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather relevant assessment data, including current condition, medical history, and psychosocial information, utilizing input from patients and healthcare team members.
  • Create, review, and modify personalized care plans within established documentation timelines, ensuring measurable and achievable outcomes.
  • Assess patient responses to care and implement necessary adjustments, documenting changes in condition and response to treatments.
  • Incorporate patient education into care delivery, ensuring documentation of teaching and learning processes.
  • Maintain annual clinical and institutional competencies.
  • Deliver patient care based on nursing principles and pathophysiology, performing technical skills accurately and efficiently.
  • Consider the patient's age in decision-making processes related to assessment, treatment, and care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, advocating for patients and utilizing resources efficiently.
  • Document comprehensive and accurate information in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate billing for services rendered.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, utilizing the skills of department members while respecting their contributions.
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing assessment, treatment, and supportive care for cancer, employing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Administer hydration, infusions, and supportive therapies, ensuring thorough assessment and care.
  • Educate patients and families, considering the relevance of age and developmental stages, while also participating in the education of colleagues.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the Swedish Cancer Institute.
  • Participate in ongoing education for self and fellow staff members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Infusion Oncology Nursing.
