  • Gather relevant assessment data, including current condition, medical history, and psychosocial information, using input from patients, families, and healthcare team members as appropriate. Analyze data to determine patient needs and potential issues.
  • Create, review, and modify personalized care plans within established documentation standards. Set measurable and achievable expected outcomes.
  • Assess patient responses to care and initiate independent or collaborative adjustments as necessary. Record changes in condition and responses to interventions.

  • Deliver patient care based on nursing principles and pathophysiology. Execute technical skills accurately and efficiently, adjusting priorities based on patient acuity and evolving clinical situations.
  • Consider the patient's age as a critical factor and apply appropriate decision-making skills in assessment, treatment, and care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues. Advocate for patients and utilize resources efficiently.
  • Document complete and accurate information on all relevant chart forms and computer applications promptly. Ensure proper billing for services rendered.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, utilizing the skills of department members while respecting and supporting their input.
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing assessment, treatment, and supportive care for cancer using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Administer care to patients receiving hydration, infusions, and supportive therapies, employing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Offer and document patient and family education, considering the patient's age, growth, and developmental stage. Engage in the education of professional colleagues.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, vision, values, and goals of the Swedish Cancer Institute.
  • Engage in ongoing education for self and other staff members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Infusion Oncology Nursing.
