Key Responsibilities:- Gather relevant assessment data, including current condition, medical history, and psychosocial information, utilizing input from patients and healthcare team members.
- Create, assess, and update personalized care plans within established documentation standards, ensuring measurable and achievable outcomes.
- Monitor patient responses to care, making independent or collaborative adjustments as necessary, and document any changes in condition.
- Incorporate educational components into patient care, documenting both teaching and learning outcomes.
- Maintain clinical and institutional competencies on an annual basis.
- Deliver patient care based on nursing principles and pathophysiology, performing technical skills with precision and efficiency.
- Consider the patient's age as a critical factor in assessment, treatment, and care delivery.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, advocating for patients and utilizing resources efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all relevant information on appropriate chart forms and computer applications.
- Delegate tasks effectively, utilizing the skills of department members while respecting their contributions.
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing assessment, treatment, and supportive care for cancer, employing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer hydration, infusions, and supportive therapies, utilizing the nursing process for optimal patient outcomes.
- Facilitate patient and family education, considering the patient's developmental stage, and contribute to the education of professional peers.
- Engage in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the Swedish Cancer Institute.
- Participate in ongoing education for self and colleagues.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Infusion Oncology Nursing.
