Job Summary:

As a Marine Test Electrician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical performance deficiencies, reading schematics, and determining the cause of faults in electrical systems. You will work with electrical component systems, contractor relays, overload relays, transformers, terminal boards, LVR low voltage release, and LVP low voltage protection.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies in marine electrical systems
  • Read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages
  • Test and inspect low, medium, and high voltage cable installations
  • Work with electrical component systems, contractor relays, overload relays, transformers, terminal boards, LVR low voltage release, and LVP low voltage protection

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in the electrical field
  • Proficient in accurately reading and measuring with tools, including tape measures and stick rulers
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, schematics, and work packages
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical theory
  • Solid understanding of LVR low voltage release and LVP low voltage protection
  • Proficient in reading and identifying equipment and component label plates
  • Experienced in lockout/tag out and hazardous energy control procedures
  • Physically able to climb vertical and inclined stairs and ladders, crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
