Port Engineer Marine Vessels Offshore Specialist

Job Summary:
Genesis Energy is seeking a highly skilled Port Engineer Marine Vessels Offshore Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, supervising, and monitoring planned and unplanned repairs on our tank barge fleet, working within established budgets and time frames.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all regulatory inspections for the tank barge fleet and address any issues arising from inspections.
- Collect bids for major shipyard work and coordinate the purchasing of parts and services for repair and maintenance projects.
- Respond to emergency calls during weekends, holidays, and nights, and provide backup support to maintenance staff for vacations, illnesses, and as otherwise needed.
- Manage and maintain records for the preventative maintenance program and ensure compliance with state and federal barge operation regulations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience maintaining tugs or barges
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Computer skills: Word and Excel
- Knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry
- Knowledge of tugs and barge maintenance systems and equipment
- Ability to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions
- Ability to deal with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications
