Job Summary

MCHC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As the first point of contact for visitors and patients, this role is critical in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth experience for all individuals who interact with our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Welcoming: Greet visitors and patients in a professional and friendly manner, ascertain the purpose of their visit, and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Telephone Management: Answer and direct phone calls to the correct staff member or clinician, ensuring that all calls are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Information Provision: Provide visitors and callers with information about MCHC and the resources we offer, including our services, policies, and procedures.
  • Correspondence and Mail Management: Manage all incoming and outgoing mail, including taking and retrieving messages, and ensuring that all correspondence is handled in a timely and professional manner.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform a variety of clerical tasks, including making copies, faxing documents, filing, and paperwork, as well as operating office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Bookkeeping and Financial Management: Perform bookkeeping duties, including credits and collections, preparing and sending financial statements or bills, and keeping financial records up-to-date.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Relay information between personnel, transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, email, or fax, and schedule tests or procedures for patients as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a PSR, receptionist, or similar position involving front desk duties.
  • Skills: Proficiency in English, computer use, including MS Office, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures, experience working with an EMR, and proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, Urdu, Rohingya, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish, etc.
