Job Summary:

Martin's Restaurant Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Service Associate to join our team. As a Food Service Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Delivery and Service: Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately, ensuring that all orders are complete and correct.
  • Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact between the Front of the House and Back of the House staff, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Order Management: Communicate food orders to the kitchen staff, paying close attention to priorities and special requests, such as food allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • Table Setting and Maintenance: Assist the wait staff with table setting, ensuring that all tables are properly set with linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Ensure that all food is served at the correct temperature and that high standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times.
  • Customer Engagement: Check in with customers regularly, taking additional orders or refilling drinks as needed, and ensuring that all customers have a positive dining experience.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Remove dirty dishes and utensils, and maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Knowledge and Communication: Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items, and inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests.
  • Special Requests: Ensure that families with young children receive kids' menus and special silverware sets.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Hygiene and Food Safety: Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules, and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Physical Demands: Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability: Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Good oral communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.

Experience and Education:

  • Restaurant Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent, with a degree in hospitality or restaurant management preferred.
