Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements, and overseeing agency-wide payroll operations. You will work closely with our finance leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, manage relationships with external partners, and provide exceptional customer service to our employees.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Lead a team of payroll accountants and provide coaching, guidance, and direction to ensure successful team performance.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve payroll operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with our finance leadership team to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our employees, responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Manage relationships with external partners, including the Department of Accounts and Human Resources.

  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.



Requirements:



To be successful in this role, you will need:





  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in payroll administration and team management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply financial regulations, accounting methods, and policies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience working in an automated environment, with proficiency in Oracle (or similar financial software database).

  • Ability to plan, direct, organize, prioritize, and coordinate the work of professional personnel.

  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros, etc.).

Salary:



The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 to low $100,000s, commensurate with experience.



Location:
