This is an exciting opportunity to join the State of Colorado as a Speech Language Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing technical assistance, guidance, and policy support for learners with speech-language impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide statewide professional development and technical assistance to administrative units serving students with communication disorders.
- Develop and implement an approved annual budget for leadership, professional learning, and statewide technical assistance activities.
- Consult and collaborate with CDE and field colleagues to design and implement professional learning and technical assistance products.
- Lead state advisory committees and work groups to provide information and solicit input on CDE initiatives and needs in the field of speech-language pathology.
Requirements:
- Masters degree from an accredited university in speech-language pathology.
- 5 years of school-based experience within a special education field.
- 5 years of experience in evaluation practices specific to special education eligibility.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in delivering professional learning to adult learners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively balance quality of work and productivity expectations.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work to accommodate and meet the changing needs of the department and meet deadlines.
