About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Surgery Care Affiliates. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of cardiac services to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, you will be responsible for ensuring safe procedures are carried out in the delivery of cardiac services to patients.
  • You will analyze, use, and care for all technical equipment and supplies, and produce and maintain accurate records and reports as necessary.
  • You will scrub and assist the physician with cardiac, vascular, and IR procedures.
  • You will be competent in hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, aseptic technique, and CVL scrub procedures and sterile equipment usage.
  • You will ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility's policies & procedures.
  • You will demonstrate respect for co-workers & develop positive working relationships with other departments.
  • You will communicate with courtesy when interacting with patients, physicians, facility staff, vendors, and the public – in person, on the telephone, or by email.
  • You will perform the role of CVL scrub by anticipating the needs of the physician and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.
  • You will ensure all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the start of the procedure.
  • You will combine the knowledge of human anatomy, cardiovascular procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate the physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all new equipment requests are appropriately analyzed based on utilization and data from the provider.
  • You will maintain radiation safety at all times in accordance with radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • You will promote a safe environment and take appropriate action in emergency situations, being aware of and controlling hazards which may endanger patients, visitors, and employees.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiological technology, or of certified RCIS program, AS or BS degree preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • ARRT or RCIS Certification required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of cardiac cath lab experience.
  • Able to perform at a proficient level all radiology procedures related to the cardiac cath lab.
  • Able to scrub and monitor to assist and perform all other tasks as needed to perform all cases in cath lab procedures including pacemaker, vascular, cardiac, and pain management procedures.
  • Able to provide direct patient care to the stable and acute patient.
  • Ability to manipulate various types of electronic, radiographic, and clinical equipment.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot various types of cath lab and computer equipment.
  • Ability to operate specialty equipment in the facility and to perform tasks at a 'user' level.
  • Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
