Job Summary

SCA Health is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring safe procedures are carried out in the delivery of cardiac services to patients.

You will analyze, use, and care for all technical equipment and supplies, producing and maintaining accurate records and reports as necessary.

The ideal candidate will be competent in hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, aseptic technique, and CVL scrub procedures and sterile equipment usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physician and facility's policies & procedures.
  • Communicate with courtesy when interacting with patients, physicians, facility staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Perform the role of CVL scrub by anticipating the needs of the physician and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure.
  • Ensure all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the start of the procedure.
  • Combine the knowledge of human anatomy, cardiovascular procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate the physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiological technology, or of certified RCIS program, AS or BS degree preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • ARRT or RCIS Certification required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of cardiac cath lab experience.

Working Knowledge:

  • Able to perform at a proficient level all radiology procedures related to the cardiac cath lab.
  • Able to scrub and monitor to assist and perform all other tasks as needed to perform all cases in cath lab procedures including pacemaker, vascular, cardiac, and pain management procedures.
  • Able to provide direct patient care to the stable and acute patient.

Technical/Motor Skills:

  • Ability to manipulate various types of electronic, radiographic, and clinical equipment.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot various types of cath lab and computer equipment.
  • Ability to operate specialty equipment in the facility and to perform tasks at a 'user' level.
